Summer Cook Yokohama 2017

Racing in Japan

I always love racing in Japan. Race day in Yokohama was chilly and wet but that didn’t stop spectators from lining the course! A course change new for this year eliminated a 180 degree turn but added a cobble section in a historic district that ended up being pretty treacherous in the rain and saw a few crashes from other athletes. I swam well, coming out of the water in third but struggled through the first transition and the beginning of the bike, which immediately put me out of the race. I eventually found my confidence and ended up running my way to 12th. I’ve had fairly consistent results my last few races and am looking to improve upon them at my next race in Leeds, England on June 11th. Thanks for all your support!
