Beauty and the Beast: The 2010 St. Croix Ironman 70.3 remains one of the very few 70.3 distance races where qualifying slots are available for both the Ironman World Championships (Kona) and the Ironman 70.3 World Championships (Clearwater). The classic St. Croix course, among the most beautiful in the sport, has 28 Kona slots up for grabs, as well as 40 Clearwater slots. The May 2 date allows athletes to enjoy a tropical respite after a long winter, as well as an early season chance to get qualified for the autumn dates of both championship races.
